About Our Staff

Toni Paschal is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, licensed in the state of Georgia, and a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. Toni is a former “military brat” that grew up in Texas and eventually made Georgia her home. Toni has always had a passion for helping people, which led her to get a Bachelors degree in Psychology in 2002. Having an interest in helping families, she went on to do an internship with the faith based organization, Focus on the Family (Colorado Springs, Colorado) after finishing her undergraduate degree. Then in 2003 she started work within communities, working with non profits, churches, and schools to impact youth and families, with a focus on at risk youths. This led her to pursue a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University in 2005. She did her therapist internship during this program and graduated in 2007. She started working in 2010 with The Center for Children and Families (Monroe, Louisiana) and then with Serenity Behavioral Health Systems (2014 to present). In the mental health setting, Toni has worked with both youth and adult populations, providing individual and family counseling. She has worked with clients with diagnoses including Bipolar Disorder, Schizoaffective Disorder, Major Depression, Anxiety Disorder, PTSD, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and more. Toni has recently turned to private practice to have more flexibility in her schedule and more time to enjoy her hobbies and interests. When Toni isn’t working, she enjoys time with her family, cooking, eating good food, being outdoors, and binge watching suspense thrillers.

Toni’s Approach to Therapy

Toni is an Integrative Therapist and draws on models including but not limited to the following: CBT, Narrative, Person Centered, Structural family therapy, Systemic Therapy, and Solution Focused. Mental health issues can range from mild to severe. Toni believes that each person is unique and takes time to evaluate a person as an individual. Toni is effective because she brings to therapy an essential aspect – the art of caring. She says her mother raised her with the mantra, “No one cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.”
